How Jason Will Improve Oregon:

Affordability

Help working families

Daily life is unaffordable for Oregonians. We can’t afford groceries, gas, and rent. Many Oregon senior citizens are skipping meals.

The endless taxation of citizens to “solve” problems ISN’T working. The legislature has had plenty of sessions to actually solve our social problems, but hasn’t. It’s unsustainable to just keep taxing citizens from everything from insurance premiums to food production to cell phones. It’s time for legislative accountability with taxpayer dollars.

I will prioritize improving livability by:

  • Growing affordable housing and tax relief for homeowners
  • Protecting the Kicker
  • Advocating for tax relief for individuals, families, and small businesses
  • Expanding access to affordable childcare and tax credits for stay at home parents

Support small businesses

I am a small business owner myself, making parts for Volkswagens and logging equipment. I also sell new and used tow trucks. I have experienced supply chain challenges to ensure small businesses have access to necessary materials.

As an owner operator, I understand the over-taxation and regulation that is happening in Oregon.

Small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities. I support small business growth by opposing the Corporate Activities Tax (CAT tax) and advocating for tax relief for small
businesses.

In our schools, I want to invest in workforce development to ensure a skilled and reliable
workforce.

Freedom in transportation

Transportation is a passion of mine because I believe it directly impacts our quality of life.

Tolls are not only another (huge) tax on Oregonians, but they limit our access to jobs and impede our freedom. Mobility brings prosperity. When you lose the ability to travel or it becomes too costly, you lose the ability to provide for your family.

Implementing tolls doesn't just add a financial burden—it threatens the livability of our communities because the legislature has given permission for ODOT to toll any freeway, highway, or road! I will do everything I can to STOP all tolling in Oregon, period.

Community Safety

Protect our neighbors

Protecting our neighbors and building safe communities is not just a goal—it's my heartfelt commitment.

I've witnessed how crime, homelessness, and drug addiction tear apart families, destroy our property value, and undermine our sense of security.

Unfortunately, our legislature has repeatedly been soft on crime and has chosen handouts over solutions. They have legislated AGAINST our police having the tools to do their jobs to keep us safe.

We need comprehensive solutions that tackle these issues at their core. That's why I will passionately support and empower our law enforcement officers, giving them back the means they need to keep us safe.

I will work hand-in-hand with local and county officials to invest in rehabilitation programs and mental health services. These recovery programs were promised through Measure 110, but and were never delivered – another failure of our current legislature.

Through accountability with taxpayer funds, we MUST create safer neighborhoods and offer hope and support to those who are ready to embrace it.

Protect our children

I am a product of the foster system. I understand firsthand the impact of the mental health crisis and the outcomes of broken families. Abuse and addiction burden not just the individual family, but also the greater community.

We must overhaul the broken administrative systems that are supposed to protect our children. We must require accountability from taxpayer programs and monitor their success. I believe the private sector also has a critical role to play in solving these social problems; government alone is not the answer.

Our legislature needs to protect our children at all costs. As your next State Representative, I will always vote to support vulnerable children and families.

Education

Restore educational standards

Oregon schools are failing our students, ranking 45 th among 50 states! Tragically, 33% of Oregon students are unable to read at grade level. These abysmal statistics are a grave report card on our failing public education system.

As the chair of the Education Committee, our current State Representative Courtney Neron is most to blame for this sad state of affairs in our schools. She voted against graduation and academic standards, against safety resource officers, against parental rights, and against curriculum transparency. Oregon taxpayers deserve better.

I will vote to RESTORE academic standards and excellence. I am committed to strengthening academic focus and rigor in our schools, so our students get the education we are paying for with hard-earned tax dollars.

Creative education funding

With this failing record, taxpayers cannot be continuously tapped for more investments in education through their property taxes. We must show a commitment to the success of our students, teachers, and school workers.

My plan is to harvest state-owned timber lands and use the proceeds for education investments. Our forest are currently being poorly managed, and we need to use Oregon’s best renewable resource to invest in our future: our children.

Did you know that the pollution of one wildfire is worse than all the cars on the road in one year? We can actually have both clean water and air by simply protecting and properly using our forests. And we can put the timber to good use to fund education!

My Oregon Timber plan to fund education will bring jobs and industry to Oregon and bring down the cost of lumber, which will bring down the cost of housing. The sale of our timber will then attract and fund the best teachers and resources. This will promote excellence and make our schools competitive with alternative education and other states.

Expand workforce training

I’ve worked since I was 14 years old and I believe we must offer actual job training when it comes to our educational offerings. Oregon students must be given workplace skills to function in the real world. I will expand workforce training programs in schools to prepare our students.

My plan to direct educational spending to workforce training includes:

  • Curriculum and staff to help struggling students catch up to grade level.
  • Vocational training and apprenticeship programs
  • Partnering with businesses to create job opportunities in emerging industries

In Oregon’s educational efforts, we must equip our students to do more than pass tests; we must prepare them for the workforce and to contribute to society.
